Boston, MA, August 29, 2019 –(PR.com)– Beechwoods Software (Beechwoods), a leading supplier of software technology and services for IoT with deep domain knowledge of embedded systems, is enabling a complete software for IoT Edge Gateway devices. The software is built upon the EdgeX Foundry open source project that offers an interoperable platform and ecosystem of plug-and-play components to unify the IoT edge computing marketplace.

EdgeX Foundry is now part of LF Edge, an umbrella organization that establishes an open, interoperable framework for edge computing independent of hardware, silicon, cloud, or operating system. Beechwoods Software is one of the 60 global founding members of LF Edge, an active member of EdgeX Foundry and Chair of the Certification Working Group. To learn more, visit https://www.lfedge.org/.

The solution also supports leading cloud service providers like Amazon IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub and IBM Watson IoT for hybrid cloud use case scenarios.

“Interoperability is vital for companies that are developing commercial solutions on the IoT Edge, which is why EdgeX Foundry is a perfect fit for Beechwoods,” said Keith Steele, Chair of the EdgeX Foundry Technical Steering Committee and CEO of IOTech. “We are pleased to see Beechwoods support EdgeX and believe their new commercial software can help the EdgeX ecosystem accelerate the development and deployment of critical applications and services across a wide range of IoT use cases.”

Beechwoods has selected the AMD Ryzen™ Embedded family of processors as the computing platform. The AMD Ryzen provides the performance and capabilities required to securely manage data processing, aggregation and analytics at the edge. “We’re excited to see the growth of products and solutions developed within the framework of the EdgeX Foundry like Beechwoods has done with the AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 processor,” said Stephen Turnbull, director, technical marketing, Embedded Solutions, AMD.
